Phoronix Linux Test Suite Now Knows Open Solaris and BSD
Sep 04, 2008
Phoronix Media releases its version 1.2 test suite.
According to its originator, the benchmark suite for Linux has undergone around 250 enhancements over its predecessor, with a version jump from 1.0 directly to 1.2.
Highlighted is support for the additional Open Linux and BSD platforms. Hardware and software discovery is to have improved along with an enhanced installation. The number of test profiles grew from 50 to 75 and the packaged test suites from 23 to 38. The hardware test licensing is GPLv3. The suite is intended for both individual users and for developer and corporate performance testers. Further information is at the Phoronix website.
