Red Hat Acquires Makara
Red Hat accelerates Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) solution strategy with Makara acquisition.
Red Hat, Inc, providers of Red Hat Enterprise Linux, Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization, JBoss Enterprise Middleware and corporate sponsor of the Fedora Project, announced their acquisition of Makara, providers of cloud application management technologies, earlier today.
Via their Cloud Foundation, Red Hat plans to integrate JBoss Enterprise Middleware with Makara's Cloud Application Platform to offer a more comprehensive PaaS solution to Cloud customers and providers.
"Cloud Foundations is about enabling customers and developers to have an easy on-ramp to the cloud," says Paul Cormier, president of Products and Technologies at Red Hat. "With the addition of Makara, we aim to further simplify application deployment and management. We welcome the Makara team and look forward to accelerating our delivery of PaaS solutions to the market."
More information on this acquisition can be found in the press release and on the webcast.
