Webserver Survey: Apache Profits from Link Farms

In its monthly publicized Webserver survey, the Netcraft service announced that Apache has further increased its lead over Microsoft IIS.

Around 50.4% of the 181.3 million websites identified by Netcraft run Apache servers. Microsoft's IIS, by comparison, comes in at 34.4%. Of the roughly three million websites that Apache has gained, many of those hosted at ThePlanet.com are link farms that transport predominantly pornographic text links to other sites in the .pl domain.

More survey results are on the Netcraft news website.
