Galaxy Tab Loses Voice Capability

Sep 20, 2010

The US version of the Android-powered tablet won't support telephony.

We've been sure to update the Samsung's Galaxy Tab as more and more information has been revealed about the Android-powered device, but today's news comes as a bit of a disappointment. The US version of the Galaxy Tab will not support telephony.

The Sprint-carried device will only support 3G data rather than their 4G network, but the the voice functionality was stripped from the US model, which limits the tablet's usefulness as an enterprise solution, something Samsung was quick to promote when the device was first announced.

The price of the device remains unannounced.
