This month's DVD comes with two exciting Linux alternatives. Ubuntu Studio is an Ubuntu-based distro pre-configured with a powerful collection of multimedia applications. The Ubuntu Studio default configuration contains drivers and helper applications to support professional production workflows in audio, graphics, video, photography, and publishing. Mix music with the Ardour digital workstation, build 3D animations with Blender, edit videos with OpenShot, and create custom publications with Scribus.
Side B of this month's disc features the classic Arch Linux, a lean and powerful distro favored by many developers and Linux loyalists. Arch supports a strong user community and includes the easy-to-use Pacman package manager.
