Drawpile allows multiple users to sketch, paint, and collaborate on the same canvas simultaneously in real time from anywhere in the world.
There is no shortage of digital painting applications on Linux. Whether you use Krita, MyPaint, Gimp, or Pinta, they're all equally capable tools for sketching, painting, and illustration work. Drawpile [1] occupies a completely different niche. It isn't trying to replace the applications I've just listed. Instead, it answers a question few of them even ask: What if several artists want to work on the same canvas at the same time?
Think of Drawpile as a shared sketchbook. As you draw, everyone else connected to the session sees your brush strokes appear instantly. They can even jump in and sketch with you or exchange ideas through the built-in chat window. You can use Drawpile to collaborate on illustrations and drawing, host online art classes, and more.
