Announcing New Managing Editor & New Proofer/Polisher

ROSE Blog: Rikki's Open Source Exchange
Over the past few months, we've been shifting roles here at Linux Pro Magazine/Linux Magazine. I've gradually moved out of my editing position into my new role as Associate Publisher, and I'm happy to announce that Rita Sooby has accepted the role of Managing Editor. Rita gradually took on her Managing Editor duties over the summer and formally moved into her new role this month.
In addition to 15 years of freelance editing services for science, math, and computing publications, Rita has been working closely with us for the past three years editing, proofing, and polishing articles for Linux Pro, Linux Magazine (our international English edition), Ubuntu User, and our special editions. We're thrilled – and relieved – that she has joined us full-time in our Kansas office. We have a tight team here and Rita is a great fit.
Of course, we still needed someone to help with the incredibly important tasks of editing, proofing, and polishing our magazines, and again we were lucky to find just the right person for the job: Amber Ankerholz. You might recognize Amber's name because she was the long-time Editor in Chief of Sys Admin magazine. It's safe to say that she was also my first mentor in the world of tech publishing – she gave me my first editing job back in the late '90s (even though I wasn't perfectly qualified to edit a publication of the caliber of Sys Admin). Amber will be working with us remotely from her new home in Colorado.
Join me in welcoming two women in their new roles at Linux Pro Magazine, Linux Magazine, and Ubuntu User!
