Community Leadership Summit & OSCON 2009
ROSE Blog: Rikki's Open Source Exchange
Next Friday I'm flying out to San Jose for the Community Leadership Summit. The summit is free, but registration is required so don't forget that detail if you're planning to attend. (And it looks like attendees will be in very good company!)
Are you going to OSCON? If so, be sure to stop by our booth (#504) and pick up a copy of the magazine. (Save an additional 15% off when you use discount code: os09lpm.)
I've spent the past couple of days frantically preparing for my week-long trip, because there's nothing like waiting until almost the last minute to get organized. Of course, I did figure out some of the details a couple of weeks ago, like how to get there, where to stay, and who's going to be my roommate.
Here's my roommate story: A few months ago, I ran across Amber's blog while thumbing through my RSS feeds. I wrote about her move to Ubuntu (she was a Mac-fan), and then she and I started chatting online, and one thing led to another and her husband let us interview him for our first issue of Ubuntu User magazine, and now Amber's going to be my roommate at OSCON. If you want to meet her in person, we'll be putting her to work at our Linux Pro booth so swing on by.
I still need to iron out my schedule while I'm at OSCON. One thing I've marked on the calendar already is the Women 2.0 Mixer at OSCON, held July 23 from 6:30PM-8:30PM. The mixer is free for OSCON attendees and you can register through the Women 2.0 site.
See you in San Jose!
