A New Dream: Dreamlinux 3.5
Based on Debian's Lenny, version 3.5 of the Brazilian distro Dreamlinux has now been released.
The new 32 Bit release comes with an XFCE desktop as standard with an alternative Gnome version also available. According to a developer announcement, version 3.5 has been optimized for mobile devices with excellent WLAN support for Atheros, Broadcom, Intel and Ralink chip sets.
Dreamlinux 3.5 may be based on Debian 5.0 but it also contains some very up-to-date packages, including the 2.6.28.5 kernel, OpenOffice 3.0 and Firefox 3.1 (via the Easy-install module). Its own installer makes setting up easy, even for beginners and its USB pendrive ability enables the system to run “live” while still saving data changes (persistent).
