Acer Puts DVD and Sources to Linpus Lite Online
Acer has put the source RPM packages and a recovery DVD for its increasingly popular Aspire One Linux netbook online for free download. Sources for the kernel and further components are also available.
About a half year after launch of its Aspire One netbooks, Acer has put the complete source RPM packages of the Linpus Linux Lite specially adapted to the Intel A110 processor on the FTP server of the Taiwan Advance Research & Education Network. The FTP site also includes the 1-GByte recovery DVD to get Aspire netbooks and compatible devices to their default states, if necessary.
Acer also put the kernel, Firefox, MPlayer plug-in and additional components online to comply with licensing. The downloads are available here.
