Next Firefox 3 Beta
As announced, Mozilla has released another beta of Firefox 3, which is scheduled to go final next year, just in time for Christmas.
The new test version of the free browser includes another privacy protection feature, the eTLD (effective Top Level Domain) service which is designed to check critical content, such as cookies more carefully.
Mozilla has integrated the feedback from a multitude of voluntary testers with the new beta. A total of around 900 improvements compared to the initial beta have been implemented. According to the developers this will mainly benefit security, stability and performance.
The beta 2 is available for downloading from the Mozilla website. And bugs can be reported via Bugzilla. Check out the release notes for a full list of changes and improvements. Parallel to the final release of Firefox 3 the end-of-life countdown will start for Firefox 2.0.x. The developers will support the 2.x series for six months according to the roadmap.
