Dual-Core Acer Netbooks to Dual Boot Windows 7 and Android
Have your cake and eat it too.
Acer Taiwan president Scott Lin announced at the company's netbook launch conference that all future dual-core Acer netbooks would come dual-boot ready with Windows 7 and Android. This includes Acer's recently announced Acer One series of netbooks, powered by Intel's Atom 550 processor.
Currently the only Acer product that runs Android is the UK version of the D255 netbook, which itself features an Atom N550 processor clocked at 1.5 Ghz. Acer's inclusion of Android makes sense considering Google is targeting Chrome OS for tablets. What's more, Android's penchant for multitasking has always made it a better candidate for the netbook platform, which features beefier processors and better batteries for a more process-intensive workload.
