KDevelop 4.0 Released
After three years the KDevelop team has completed the general rework of the integrated development environment with release of stable version 4.0.
The KDevelop team, by its own admission, has been concentrating on getting a good environment for C++ programming, including code navigation, syntax checking and autocompletion. The Qt GUI toolkit provides special support for the signal slot mechanism.
CMake is the currently integrated build system; debugging is handled by GDB. The new KDevelop API documentation also provides tooltips for classes and functions. Among the first plugins included is an extension for PHP code. A blog from KDevelop team member Andreas Pakulat shows screenshots of many of the new features.
KDevelop 4.0 source code is available for download as packages for openSUSE and SUSE Linux Enterprise.
