Netbeans IDE 6.0: New Editor, more Ruby
Version 6.0 of Netbeans, an IDE sponsored by Sun has just been released.
The editor code has seen a major reworking. According to the project, it is now faster, and it supports developer productivity with features such as improved highlighting and ergonomic code completion. Support for Ruby, JRuby and Ruby-on-Rails is also new, and includes Ruby management and a debugger for the language.

A major part of the Netbeans IDE is dual licensed under Sun’s Common Development and Distribution License (CDDL) 1.0 and GPLv2; some individual components of the modular software are released under other Open Source licenses.
