Open-Xchange and SugarCRM Partnership Established
Groupware solutions expert Open-Xchange and customer relationship management (CRM) provider SugarCRM are partnering to mutually integrate their solutions.
Open-Xchange and SugarCRM have made their partnership official. Users of the two software solutions will be able to transfer files from one to the other, according to the companies. This exchange should be possible for contact module data already, even while the project is still in a beta stage. Goal of the partnership is to make calendar and email functions compatible, according to SugarCRM cofounder Clint Oram.
Open-Xchange will provide the import and export functions based on Microformats.org, internally known as Open-Xchange Meta Format (in short, OXMF). Use cases also include managing files for social networks such as Xing and Facebook, possible through test accounts from Ox.io. Test participants should be aware, however, that the "catch" is that it's still in beta and that usernames and passwords for each social network will end up on the test servers.
