Amahi Releases Ubuntu Edition
Amahi 6.1, Ubuntu Edition features a new look with fixes and updates.
Amahi has announced version 6.1, Ubuntu Edition, of its home server. And, according to the company’s website, the developers are working to create a graphical installer to make installation of Amahi Ubuntu Edition easier.
The Amahi home server is a GNU/Linux-based, open-source network server, integrated with Fedora and Ubuntu. According to the development website, it is meant to be headless and run 24x7. However, it can also be used as a desktop while still serving the home network. It features a centralized storage server, bare metal backup server, application server, media streaming server, calendar server, wiki server, remote access server, and print server.
Some of the features in Amahi 6.1, Ubuntu Edition include:
- Latest storage pooling technology with Greyhole 0.9* Reliability fixes and updates, including a new look
- Support for both the 32- and 64-bit desktop and server versions of Ubuntu* Improved cloud storage with Amahi Sync
- Some support for ARM systems, like the PandaBoard and BeagleBoard
- One-Click App installs via Amahi’s application store
