Plasma Desktop 6.1 Released with Several Enhancements
If you're a fan of Plasma Desktop, you should be excited about this new point release.
The developers of Plasma Desktop are never one to rest on their laurels. Instead, they are constantly looking for new ways to elevate the desktop to new heights and version 6.1 is no exception.
For example, the desktop edit mode has been completely redesigned. When activating the edit mode, you'll now be presented with a new animation into an overview with new settings panels that live on each side of the desktop. This new layout prevents overlapping and confusing settings options.
There also is a new session restore feature that works with Wayland that enables you to save window positions and sizes between logins.
Other new features include the ability to launch a remote desktop session directly from the System Preferences app, the ability to sync the accent colors on your desktop and the LED colors on your keyboard, the ability to magnify your cursor by "shaking" the mouse, screen locking can now behave like a traditional screen saver, edge barrier is a new sticky area for your cursor between two monitors for easier interactions, Explicit Sync to eliminate flicking and glitches with NVIDIA graphics, and triple buffering support added for Wayland.
