Kubuntu Focus Releases New Iterations of Ir14 and Ir16 Laptops
If you're a fan of the Kubuntu Focus laptops or have been waiting for the right time to purchase one, that time might be now.
The latest Kubuntu Focus laptops not only benefit from all of the updates added to Kubuntu 24.04, but they're also designed to last all day, with the help of an 80Wh battery.
These laptops are geared toward on-the-go professionals who not only require plenty of battery life but also high performance and a sleek look.
As far as specs are concerned, you'll find both offer 100% sRGB LED IPS displays with the lr14 (14" display) running at a 1920x1200 resolution and a brightness of 350 nits and the lr16 (16" display) running at a 2560x1600 resolution and a brightness of 450 nits. Both models feature a 90Hz refresh rate.
Both devices are powered by the Intel i5-13500H CPU and include integrated Iris Xe graphics with a 1.65GHz chip. Although you can customize several options, you cannot change the CPU or graphics options.
What you can customize is the memory (from 32 GB to 96 GB), storage (from 1 TB to 4 TB), add a second disk, add full encryption with a Yubi Key, purchase multiple power supplies, switch out the emblem, extend the warranty, and select your shipping.
The base price for each is $1080.00 for the lr14 and $1,145 for the lr16. Both models are shipping now.
