Opensuse 11.2 Last Beta
The now released test version of openSUSE 11.2 is to be the last beta. The first release candidate will appear mid-October.
Andreas Jaeger has announced the eighth and last milestone for openSUSE 11.2, which provides, with some exceptions, the complete theme of KDE and GNOME and includes the final Kernel 2.6.31. GNOME 2.28 will still be the release candidate version only. Other central components include:
- OpenOffice 3.1.1
- PulseAudio 0.9.17
- Samba 3.4.1
- PostgreSQL 8.4.1
As in most pre-versions, milestone 8 includes a series of known bugs. Thus OpenOffice doesn't quite integrate with KDE4, and LVM has some problems at installation, with no developer available in the meantime to resolve it. Users of an Intel WLAN card with the 4965 chipset will also get some unpleasant results in that the WLAN won't work.
