FBReaderJ 0.3.0: Free E-Book Reader for Android
FBReaderJ, a GPL program for e-book display on the Android mobile platform, is now available in version 0.3.0.
The FBReaderJ Java program, a clone of the FBReader, provides a reworked Library view and uses the Android scrollbar instead of the FBReader cursor. The update to version 0.3.0 brings a caveat: the digital signature was changed from the previous versions that had an autogenerated Google SDK debug key. This limitation prevents FBReaderJ access to the Android Market, but this should change in the near future. For now, installing the new FBReaderJ requires removing the old version, even if this deletes previous user settings.
As of version 0.3.0 all book files must go into the /sdcard/book directory on the device. FBReaderJ supports the epub, oeb and fb2 formats, with more formats that FBReader supports to come. It also supports direct reading from tar, gzip and zip archives.
