EnGarde Secure Linux Community 3.0.18 Released
Guardian Digital, a provider of Open Source security solutions, today announced the latest release of EnGarde Secure Linux Community 3.0.18, the world's first Open Source security platform.
The launch, which is available for downloading from the website includes the introduction of Guardian Digital Health Center, the proactive approach towards monitoring system hardware, and also includes two completely new tools, FWKNOP (FireWall KNock Operator) an authorization scheme called Single Packet Authorization (SPA), and PSAD, a collection of three lightweight system daemons that analyze iptables log messages to detect port scans and suspicious traffic.
In distribution since 2001, Guardian Digital's EnGarde has been a staple for security enthusiasts, administrators and organizations looking to administer servers easily and securely. Designed as an integrated server platform, EnGarde Secure Linux provides Web, DNS and email functions simply and securely, while delivering integrated intrusion detection, advanced kernel and network security features, manageable SELinux policies, robust engineering and graphical auditing and reporting.
WebTool, EnGarde's online configuration tool, makes system configuration and maintenance nearly 'touch-free' and allows for instantaneous updating and patching through GDSN, the Guardian Digital Support Network.
This release also includes many new packages such as bc (1.06) cyrus-sasl (2.1.22), drbd (8.2.1), dsniff (2.3), eventlog (0.2.5), libnids (1.22), quota (3.15) and sdparm (1.02) among many upgrade packages. It also includes a new stress testing suite contained in the new stress-kernel package, and some bug-fixes and minor enhancements. The newest stable versions of MySQL (5.0.45), asterisk (1.4.14), bacula (2.2.6), cpio (2.9) and many others were included.
