Sabayon Linux 6 Now Available

Jun 23, 2011

The newest Sabayon sticks with an older Gnome.

"Because we do care about our community, we do listen to our users, we consider them part of the game, we decided to leave GNOME3 out for another, last, release cycle, in order let things to settle down: providing a broken user experience has never been in our plans," the announcement says.

In addition to Gnome 2.32.2 and KDE 4.64, the new Sabayon includes Linux kernel 2.6.39.1, natively supported btrfs filesystem, new artwork and boot music, XBMC media center, installer improvements, a non-intrusive firewall tool (ufw), and LibreOffice 3.3.3. See the announcement for a list of additional updates. To support the Sabayon project, you can donate online.
