OpenOffice.org Conference 2010 Call for Papers
The OpenOffice.org Confererence (OOoCon) 2010 is running its call for papers until June 2 for the conference at the end of August in Budapest, Hungary.
The free office suite project is looking for "creative, ambitious ideas" for presentations from developers and other contributors interested in the OpenOffice technology, including the Open Document Format (ODF). The proposals can be introductory, such as for extensions, or about "deep, dirty, and downright fun aspects of hacking the OpenOffice.org codebase." Talks on community themes are also requested: next to developers and maintainers, the OOoCon 2010 team is also looking for designers, translaters, testers and promoters. Especially sought are papers from local user groups on OpenOffice success stories.
Abstracts of 50 to 250 words can be submitted until June 2 as ODF files on the conference website. The overarching conference topics include interoperability in public administration, plugfest development, OpenOffice in education, open standards and formats, migration case studies worldwide, and the OpenOffice community. Final presentations for successful applicants are due on August 2.
The project is looking forward to participation at the tenth annual OOoCon from August 31 through September 3, 2010 at the Central European University in Budapest. The conference is free, unlike the OpenOffice.org conference for businesses and administrations that takes place in Munich in November.
