Shuttle Introduces Compact Computer with OpenSUSE
Shuttle has unleashed the Shuttle X500V with pre-installed OpenSUSE 11.1. Linux users can save over $100 when opting for this system as opposed to Vista.
Shuttle’s 1.47 inch „thin“ computer complete with Atom N330, 15.6 inch touchscreen and 160 GB hard drive, including OpenSUSE 11.1 is now available. The comp functions via the dual-core variety of the Atom processors. In matters display, the 1.366 x 768 pixel screen is accompanied by a 1.3 megapixel webcam. A multi-format cardreader, stereo loudspeakers, and a microphone, can also be found on the All-in-One system. To facilitate communication with the world at large, the X500V has a one gigabit ethernet card and a WLAN module (MBit/s (IEEE 802.11b/g/n).
The computer is to be had in either black or white. The Shuttle configurator allows the memory to be extended from 1 GB to 2 GB and the hard drive size up to 500 GB depending on the customer’s wants and needs. The configurator can be found on the European product site, the U.S. web shop yet doesn't give any Linux systems for choice.
