Sunbird 1.0 Beta: Last Version of the Calendar Application
Mozilla has begun beta testing the standalone calendar application Sunbird 1.0.
Developers of the free calendar application have also announced that 1.0 is the last public version of the standalone release. Future plans are to dedicate the calendar project completely to the corresponding Lightning plug-in for the Thunderbird.
In the newly-released beta, users can now define various alarms for a single event. CalDAV support has been improved, and it is better able to inter-operate with CalDAV servers. A comprehensive debugging has taken place with 500 less bugs reported by the developers.
The application is download-ready for Linux, Windows, and Mac OS X. A description and list of required links can be found on the Sunbird announcement page. The last major update came in September 2008 with Version 0.9.
