Webvideo Deluxe: Miro 2.0
A new update has vastly improved the stability of version 2.0 of the webvideo player Miro and the project website has counted its first 1.000.000 visitors.
In a message on his blog, Jesse Patel says he was delighted when he discovered that for the first time, the website miroguide.org was visited by over one million users in one month.
The numbers were supplied by Google Analytics. Patel is sure that 99% of viewers came through the Miro client which, regarding quality, has lately taken a huge leap forward. While overjoyed at the amount of feedback, the project is still looking for sponsors and independent filmmakers in need of an outlet.
Version 2.0.2 of the software has fixed numerous bugs and translates the graphic interface into new languages. Improvements include support for Libtorrent 0.13 and 0.14 and that Miro no longer wrongly displays non- UTF8 figures. The developers have also extended their search for four new video websites, including Vimeo.com.
