OSMC Conference: Free Livestream of Kristian Köhntopp's Keynote
The Open Source Monitoring Conference (OSMC) 2009 in Nuremberg, Germany, on October 28-29 will be the fourth time the meeting, formerly the "Nagios Konferenz," will take place in that city.
The OSMC conference will open with a keynote by Kristian Köhntopp, entitled "Monitoring MySQL," in which he promises to give an overview of useful tools and their properties. Other agenda items include contributions to the Nagvis Nagios visualization software, the Nconf configuration interface and the Nagios plug-ins. Also present will be Nagios kernel developer Ton Voon who will talk about how Opsview uses Nagios, Frank Migge with a talk on IT security patch monitoring with Nagios, Mathias Kettner on his check_mk Nagios accelerator, and Eric Pfaller on migrating a commercial monitoring suite to Nagios at Audi.
Linux Pro Magazine will air the complete conference program in an Internet video stream. With support from the Netways event organizer, the free keynote transmission at 9:00 AM Nuremberg time will be presented in English. Participation per live stream over the two-day conference is $199. An unbeatable advantage to the virtual attendance is that presentations at both conference halls are available. Live broadcast can be followed up later with other presentations in the archives.
Details of the program and online registration for the live stream are on the Linux Pro Magazine webpage.
