eXo Social Goes Open Source
General-purpose social platform becomes freely available
eXo Social 1.0, an enterprise social software package, is now freely available for download and implementation.
The eXo Social platform is designed to as a business-grade social networking and is based on OpenSocial. eXo Social integrates into a company's infrastructure via LDAP. Once integrated, specific user roles, permissions and workgroups can be created through the company's directory. Update feeds can also be customized for users, groups and even applications.
The platform also contains GateIn, a development environment for creating and managing applications within the social network.
