libguestfs 1.8.0 Released--Debian, Ubuntu and ArchLinux Now Supported
libguestfs 1.8.0, a library and tool set for virtual machine (VM) disk image management.
The libguestfs tool set is specifically designed for accessing and modifying VM disk images and can be used viewing and editing files inside guests, scripting changes to VMs, performing partial backups, cloning VMs and more.
libguestfs supports Fedora and Red Hat Enterprise Linux and with the 1.8.0 release now supports Debian, Ubuntu and ArchLinux. Also virt-cat, virt-df, virt-inspector, virt-ls, and virt-rescue tools which were originally written in Perl have been rewritten in C.
libguestfs can access Linux (ext2/3/4, XFS, btrfs etc), Windows (VFAT and NTFS), Mac OS X and BSD filesystems, as well as, LVM2 volume management, MBR and GPT disk partitions, raw disks, qcow2, VirtualBox VDI, VMWare VMDK, CD and DVD ISOs, SD cards, and in addition libguestfs doesn't need root permissions.
