Just Today: Download of VMware Image of Google Chrome OS
Google has prepared its Chromium OS, alias Chromium, for download. Anyone hesitant to intall if from source code will find a functioning VMware image from Linux Magazine Online.
The image download is packed at 300 MBytes. Unpacked, Chromium as VMware image then weighs in at about 700 MBytes. Huge file access could result in slow transfer rates. To access the download file, go to our German sister magazine Linux-Magazin Online and click on "Download-Link." Username and password for the packed file are both "chrome." The file works not only with VMware Player but also the free VirtualBox program.
An introduction to Google's new Linux version is also available from Linux Magazine Online.
