FCC to Rebuild Its Site in Drupal

Sep 24, 2010

Federal Communications Commission follows The White House's lead.

The Federal Communications Commission plans to update its website, fcc.gov, using the open source CMS Drupal. The FCC joins WhiteHouse.gov, and Commerce.gov, and Ed.gov as another government agency making the switch to the open source CMS.

"This decision is a significant step towards modernizing our own underlying online infrastructure -- a key stage in redesigning and rebuilding FCC.gov," FCC managing director Steven VanRoekel said.

The new FCC.gov is expected to launch before years end.
